Acadia Insurance Expands Brewery Coverage With New Food and Beverage Contamination Endorsement
Program offers most comprehensive coverage for breweries located throughout the Northeast
WESTBROOK, Maine (Mar. 30, 2017) – Acadia Insurance, a W. R. Berkley Company®, is expanding its innovative Brewery Insurance Program with the introduction of a food and beverage contamination endorsement. This option extends coverage for loss of, or damage to, food or beverage products on premises due to accidental contamination during the fermentation, aging, bottling, processing or manufacturing process.
Losing a batch of beer or facing a large scale product recall due to product contamination can be a costly proposition, particularly for smaller breweries. When accidental contamination is discovered, the coverage compensates the brewery for the product lost. The valuation of the loss is also dependent on where the product was in the manufacturing process at the time of contamination.
This endorsement expands an already thorough list of specialty coverages designed to assist small and mid-size brewery operations in managing the unique exposures of their businesses including:
- Tank Collapse coverage
- Tank Leakage coverage
- Processing Water Loss Extra Expense coverage
- Key Employee Replacement Expense coverage
- Product Recall Expense coverage
- Equipment Breakdown coverage
- Employment Practices Liability
- Privacy Breach & Cyber Liability
“The addition of the Food and Contamination endorsement solidifies our Brewery Program as one of the most comprehensive offerings on the market,” said David LeBlanc, chief underwriting officer, Acadia Insurance. “Our targeted specialty options ensure brewery owners have access to the expertise and coverage they require to manage their business.”
The Brewery Program was developed in response to the burgeoning growth of the brewing market segment in the Northeast and offers all necessary lines of coverage, including property & equipment, general liability, worker’s compensation, commercial auto and umbrella liability.
In addition to coverage capability, Acadia Insurance’s local approach to the business means local, experienced claims professionals provide prompt assistance to customers who have experienced a loss. As an added benefit, Acadia Insurance policyholders have the ability to manage their account online through MyAcadia. This secure customer portal is designed to provide customers with easy, secure access to account information at any time for their convenience.
